Bootcamp Install Windows 7 Expanding Windows Files

I downloaded Windows 8.1 Entreprise Evaluation USI from Microsoft servers and it works fine. But I can't find a link to download windows 7 with my activation key. Is it still on windows servers? Update to what I tried with exactly the same error: - all USB ports (front and back / 2.0 and 3.0) - several different USB sticks (2.0 3.0 4Gb 8Gb 32Gb) - Rufus / Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool - Re-running installer several times in a row - Removing all but one 8Gb Ram stick (Corsair Vengeance) - Bios: Disable 'Execute Disable Bit' - Format Install HDD with Disk Utility to FAT32 before installation - Format Install HDD using an other windows computer. - ISO: Windows 7 from a DVD that works EDIT: Problem solved: The ISO was stored on a NAS. I used a mac to copy the ISO from the NAS to a USB stick.

Copy the ISO to a Windows PC. And then run rufus.

I took out the 1GB and the install went through fine. Windows 7 is running just fine with 1.5GB of RAM on a 2.8Ghz Pentium D. Wish I found these comments first. Just spent 3 days loading and reloading various windows operating systems, new hard drives various Windows 7 dvd's. And it was simply remove the memory & try again. Jul 01, 2010  If this is a Clean Install, try to install Windows 7 from a Flash drive. If this is an Upgrade Install, try to repair the system files and perform a Clean Boot environment for upgrade. Hope this helps.

I bypassed the mac and downloaded the ISO from the NAS to the PC directly. And I use Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool to make the bootable USB stick (stopped at 80% of expanding files with Rufus). Having trouble installing Win7 Pro-64bit on an Apple MacBook Pro Retina; every time it gets stuck at Extracting Windows Files (65%). To install Windows, I have followed the official Apple instructions (and in short, I have used BootCamp to create the USB install files from an ISO (Which has worked on Windows PCs before). The MBP has rebooted and Windows installation has started, prompting for the usual Language and Keyboard settings. I have then formatted the partition of the hard drive and the installation process has begun.

Copying Windows files works fine but as I say it gets stuck at Extracting Windows Files (65%). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! For Info: The MBP has only got USB3.0 ports.

I have used a USB2.0 stick, a USB2.0 hard drive and a USB3.0 stick. All have had exactly the same outcome. I have tried different sized partitions from 20GB to 70GB. All have had exactly the same outcome. I have tried following some articles online regarding changing the 'boot.wim' file to include the USB3.0 drivers to overcome that issue but this doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Apple tell me that as the partition has been created and the Windows installation has started, that it must be a Windows issue not Apple. All help welcome.
