I'm with The Cambodian Space Project but I am new in cyberspace. I'm so happy to know the comments here but please be patient, I don't read or write english and ask friends to help with the internet. My full name is Kak Chanthy (Chanthy my first name) but my friends call me Srey Thy. I was born during the war in Cambodia. It was at the time of world's biggest baby boom and also the time Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge was retreating ahead of the Vietnamese army's invasion of Cambodia.

I'm not sure what day I was born on, sometime in November, so I guess I'm a scorpio and every day in November is my birthday. I grew up in poverty and spent the first years of my life on the move, my father drove an army tank and we moved across the country while fighting still troubled Cambodia. My home province is Prey Veng near the Vietnam border, it's still one of the poorest places in Cambodia, I am the eldest child in my family of mother, father, two brothers, and one baby. For the last five years I've worked as a singer, mostly Cambodian restaurants, weddings, and karaoke clubs and I have had to work hard to support my family. I love music and dance, I always wanted to be a trained Apsara dancer but I did not have the opportunity to go to school.

I have worked many jobs, as a worker in the rice fields of Cambodia to laboring on construction sites, my life has been very difficult at times but I am a happy and positive person and I have always believed in following my dreams. Today I am lead vocalist with a band I formed with a special group of great friends. We're called The Camdodian Space Project you can see and hear what i do at.
